The II CIS Games will be held in Belarus from August 4 to 14, 2023
A bright large-scale opening is scheduled for August 5, the closing ceremony of the sports festival is scheduled for August 13.
The concept of the Games provides for holding sports events in all regions of the country, which will allow participants and guests to show the modern sports infrastructure of the capital and regions, as well as demonstrate the tourism potential of Belarus.
Competitions will be held in 20 sports:
Athletics, modern pentathlon, volleyball, bullet shooting, artistic gymnastics, beach soccer, 3x3 basketball, mini football, sports (freestyle wrestling, women's wrestling, Roman), beach volleyball, handball, swimming, Thai boxing, boxing, judo, sambo, field hockey, weightlifting, archery luka, karate.
For fans, the entrance to the competition is free. In each city that will host the Games, rich presentation programs will be prepared for the guests and fan zones will be opened.
Also, within the framework of the II Games of the CIS countries, numerous master classes, meetings with outstanding athletes of different times, autograph sessions will be held. The list of star guests includes multiple world and Olympic champions wrestler Alexander Karelin and swimmer Vladimir Salnikov, world boxing champion among professionals Nikolai Valuev and many others.
The games invite not only to attend sports events, but also to see a lot of interesting things in Belarus. Tour operators prepare rich excursions to participating cities and famous sights of the country's regions.
A Judo competition will be held in Gomel.
Venue: The Ice Palace of Sports (Gomel, Mazurova str., 110) is one of the largest sports facilities in the Gomel region, equipped with modern sports equipment for official competitions; the capacity of the stands is 2.6 thousand spectators.
