
The Azov Historical, Archaeological and Paleontological Museum-Reserve is one of the largest in the South of Russia, a real treasury rich in historical artifacts from different eras. The museum complex was founded shortly after the October Revolution and is located in the former City Council – a beautiful building built in 1892. At least 2-2.5 hours should be allocated for the inspection of all museum expositions. All historical and prehistoric epochs are represented in the collections. Thousands of paleontological and archaeological artifacts found here during excavations regularly carried out in Soviet times, since the 1930s. As well as numerous nagdyadnye installations, layouts, reconstructions. On the third floor there is the famous collection of ancient gold and silver jewelry "Treasures of the Nomads of Eurasia", which has toured many countries with visiting exhibitions.
