Foundation Day of the Russian Book Chamber

On May 10, 1917, the bibliographic institution "Russian Book Chamber" was established in Petrograd by the decree of the Provisional Government – the first state institution in the world created specifically for the registration of press works. The Book Chamber is not only Russia's main registration center in the field of bibliography, but also a major research institute. The Book Chamber also interacts with national libraries and information centers of many countries of the world.
The hotel AMAKS "Yubileynaya" has its own "library" in the bookcrossing format. Anyone can not only take, but also bring the book himself and leave it in a specially designated place for other people to read it. That's how the book is "released" from dusty home shelves and ready to travel.
