Week of the Bashkir region of the AMAKS Hotels&Resorts chain

This week, as part of the "Year of National Culture" of the AMAKS Hotels&Resorts chain of hotels and resorts, we want to introduce you to Ufa, the capital of the Republic of Bashkortostan, where our next object is located - AMAKS City Hotel Ufa.

And by tradition we want to share with you some interesting facts about this city.

The area of Ufa is 753.7 km2. For comparison, this territory can accommodate 7 Paris, or 2 Reykjavik, well, or 1711 Vatican.

There is one funny fact about the streets of Ufa, so Severnaya Street is located south of Yuzhnaya Street. And the Central Street is located on the very outskirts in the Dema district — this is the entrance to the city from Samara, while the street is located almost in the very center of the city (just 2 km from the city center).

The tallest Ufa "skyscraper" remains a 26-storey high-rise, in which a bank office is located.

Since its foundation, Ufa has never been captured by enemies, although several attempts have been made. During the Pugachev rebellion, the city was under siege for 4 months and withstood two assaults, but did not surrender.

All airports in the world are assigned a short designation of three Latin letters. In Russia, air harbors also have a duplicate code in Cyrillic. There is only one city in the whole world whose international and national designation coincides with its true name, and that is Ufa.

The first Ufa nine-storey building, built in 1962, is still called "Crystal" by the townspeople, although the store of the same name, located on the first floor of the house, closed almost 20 years ago.

Ufa is the only million-plus city in our country in which there is not a single fully pedestrian street.

We invite everyone to visit this beautiful and rich in history city, and of course you know where to stay – at AMAKS City Hotel Ufa.
