Week of the Rostov region of the AMAKS Hptels&Resorts chain

As part of the "Year of National Culture" of the AMAKS Hotels & Resorts chain, this week is dedicated to the Rostov region, where our next facility is located - the AMAKS Congress Hotel Rostov-on-Don.

And by tradition we will tell you some interesting facts about this region.

- Rostov-on-Don is located in two parts of the world at once – the southern bank of the Don is considered Asia, and the northern one is Europe.

- The part of Rostov-on-Don, located on the left bank of the Don, is called by locals only as Levberdon (sometimes Leberdon). There are many recreation centers, hotels, restaurants, cafes and nightclubs.

- Rostov has always played an important role in the life of the country because of its unique geographical location - the city has access to 5 seas (Black, White, Baltic, Azov and Caspian).

- In honor of the giant Rostov plant "Rostselmash", the largest drama theater in the country with an auditorium in the form of a tractor was opened in the city in 1935.

- One of the attractions of the city is a public toilet in the basement of an old mansion in Gazetny Lane, arranged in the former premises of the bohemian cafe "Basement of Poets". When the city was in ruins in 1945, it was its only public restroom. It also became the first cooperative toilet in Rostov during Perestroika. The toilet was even offered to be immortalized on a 200-ruble bill.

- In 1999, a new Musical Theater building was built in Rostov-on-Don, which has the shape of a grand piano with an open lid. In 2008, the first Russian Internet broadcast of the theatrical premiere took place from the theater hall.

- There was a unique Voroshilov Bridge in the city, during the construction of which, for the first time in world practice, adhesive joints were used and not a single welded or bolted joint. However, in the 2010s, the bridge began to collapse, and a new one was built for the World Cup, which received the same name.

We invite everyone to visit this beautiful and rich in history region, and of course you know where to stay – at the AMAKS Congress Hotel.
