In the post-Perestroika era, traditions that were forgotten in the Soviet era began to revive throughout Russia. In the southern regions of the country, the Cossacks, the descendants of fearless warriors who more than once stood up for the defense of the Fatherland, then most vividly declared themselves. The new trends and the Basics have not been spared.

In the summer of 2005, the construction of a temple in the name of the military valor of the Don Cossacks, covered with the glory of brilliant victories and preserved by the Mother of the Lord, began here. At the same time, the building of the abolished cinema "Don" became the basis for the new structure. The church, built of brick and consecrated in 2007, looks solemn. Its central gilded dome rises 30 meters above the ground. The facades of the main portal and the belfry tower are decorated with white stone.

A staircase with an elegant balustrade leads to the entrance to the temple. The solemn ringing of the one-and-a-half-meter bell "Prince Vladimir", cast according to ancient traditions by craftsmen from Kamensk-Uralsky, notifies citizens about the onset of Orthodox holidays. Yekaterinburg presented this gift to Azov.
