The Alley of Heroes is a special place on the map of Gomel. Its opening in 2014 was a gift to Homel residents for Independence Day and the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders. A memorial complex has been recreated in the park on Sovetskaya Street. 41 commemorative steles are installed along the central alley. The names of the Heroes of the Soviet Union and full holders of the Order of Glory are immortalized here. Among them are natives of the city of Nad Sozh, soldiers who took part in the liberation of the city, as well as those who lived and worked here.
