The Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary in Gomel was built in the 1990s. It is generally believed that the former Orthodox Church of the Nativity of the Virgin, which once stood at the Novinsky cemetery, is included in its ensemble. In Soviet times, it was closed and used as a rental point, art workshops, until in 1990 it was decided to transfer this building to the Catholic community.
The appearance of the church is laconic, it is difficult to attribute it to any particular architectural style, although the influence of Gothic is felt in this building. The interior is interesting with frescoes on the theme of the Nativity of the Virgin, executed in the Byzantine manner. They decorate the altar part. Their authors are Italian artists Fabio and Ismael Nones.
