The monument was inaugurated on November 9, 2017. The process of making the sculpture took almost a year: the final sketch was ready in December 2016, and the final image was cast by August 2017. The motorcycle was sculpted from the collector's model M-72-H1 of 1958, provided by the restorer of retro transport A. Shamkin. The project was funded by private sponsors and the officers' assembly of the Gomel police.
