The building in which the theater is located is one of the oldest theater buildings in Russia — it was built in 1862. The Theater of the Young Spectator itself was located in it during the Great Patriotic War and became a favorite place of cultural leisure for Ryazan residents.
The theater has not known such large-scale works that have been carried out since the opening, the TYUz admits. The works allowed us to learn more about the theater's past. During the reconstruction, stoves were found that once heated the auditorium and theater tickets from 1903. Now they will become a part of the history of the Youth Theater.
Today, the exquisite interiors with the chamber scale of the auditorium, the lobby and narrow stairs preserve the atmosphere of the old theater of the XIX century. Beautiful acoustics, an ornate auditorium with gilded stucco vignettes and an impressive chandelier with crystal threads create a special emotional mood.
