Tourism Day as a holiday known to us today was established on September 27, 1979 during the assembly of the World Tourism Organization. The World Tourism Day was established in order to draw attention to tourism as a powerful tool for sharing cultural experiences, establishing international relations and making an important contribution to the economy.
