In 1992, the Gomel team competed in the first league of the Belarusian championship, but played extremely poorly.
Until 1995, the team struggled to maintain registration in the league, but in 1995 it was forced to leave the strongest division.
In 1997, the Gomel team managed to win the championship in the second league, after which the club returned to the strongest league of the Belarusian championship.
1999 was a very successful year for the team from Gomel. For the first time in its history, the team won bronze medals at the national championship, and also made its international debut. In the Intertoto Cup match, Vyacheslav Akshaev's wards lost 0:1 to the Czech team Hradec Kralove.
In 2002, Gomel won the Belarusian Cup for the first time in its history
In the final of the tournament, the Gomel club won against the BATE team with a score of 2:0. The final meeting of the tournament was held in Vitebsk.
Exactly one year later, the team sensationally won the gold medals of the Belarusian championship. In 2003, the wards of Sergei Podpaly won 23 victories in the championship, and they absolutely deservedly became the strongest
